Divine Mercy

The Divine Mercy image represents Jesus as the source of mercy, appearing to St. Faustina in 1931 as the Risen Christ with wounds from the Crucifixion. Key symbols include two rays (red for blood, pale blue for baptism by water), a blessing hand, and symbolizes God’s love. The image is intended to remind believers of God's love for us.  Marie selected a crucifix that has small hearts at the ends of the points of the cross. Small canary yellow Austrian crystals adorn the centerpiece representing the risen Christ.

The blue chalcedony cat's eye beads represent the purifying waters of baptism, and clearly the red hearts represent the blood of Christ. The crucifix is a very special Italian piece.
